Turnover without rekeying
DOOR says the C2 "eliminates the risk of unauthorized rekeying by removing physical keys entirely."
Multifamily door hardware
DOOR says residents and staff can unlock the C2 using the DOOR App, keycard, unique Doorcodes, Android NFC, or Apple Watch. Elwin Security, Santa Clara-based and serving the San Francisco Bay Area, installs, configures, and supports smart locks for multifamily properties. The door prep, the battery plan, the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth path, and the intercom tie-in are scoped before a lock is ordered.
Use case
Elwin Security integrates with access control, intercoms, and locks for multifamily properties. The unit door is planned as part of that system, not as a separate purchase.
DOOR says the C2 "eliminates the risk of unauthorized rekeying by removing physical keys entirely."
Schlage lists the Control lock as available as a deadbolt or interconnected (single-motion egress) lock.
Corridor Wi-Fi coverage is checked on the site walk.
Service focus
Schlage Control's interconnected lock is available with 4" or 5.5" center to center door prep options. Yale's multifamily page describes a smart all-in-one keypad with a lever as "perfect for entrances with a single door hole prep."
Schlage lists the Control FE410F as ANSI/BHMA A156.12 Grade 2, and DOOR lists the Interconnect as ANSI/BHMA A156.12 Grade 1. Yale's Pro 2 Interconnected is "Designed for regions requiring single action egress."
Schlage Control BE467F and the DOOR C2 are deadbolts rated ANSI/BHMA A156.36 Grade 2. Yale's Pro deadbolts come in Wi-Fi or Z-Wave Plus as the YRD100 or YRD600 series.
The DOOR M3 lists mortise compatibility with Latch, Townsteel, Best, Schlage, Sargent, Corbin, Marks, and Dorma cartridges. Yale's Pro 2 Cylindrical holds "up to 500 unique codes scheduled for residents, staff, and maintenance."
Schlage says a 9V battery can jump start the Control lock; DOOR says a Qi-compatible source can wireless power a C2 Bluetooth unlock.
Site walk
The walk records the door, the prep, the corridor radio conditions, and the way the property team will run credentials.
Your fire marshal or AHJ determines compliance.
Whether the unit door needs an interconnected lock with single-motion egress, a deadbolt, or a mortise lock with the Apartment function.
Who issues and revokes phone keys and keycards at move-in and move-out, whether residents will open the unit door from ButterflyMX, and which platform holds the lock's events.
Scope details
The lock is the visible part.

Schlage Control runs 4 AA batteries for up to 1-1/2 years offline or up to 1 year with BLE credentials enabled. DOOR's C2 and M3 take 6 AA and the Interconnect 4 AA, each for about 2 years, and the handoff records who answers the low-battery alert.
Schlage says the frequency of updates can be configured.
Schlage notes PIN codes are "easy to distribute, but also easy to share."
Process
The order is measure, specify, install, then hand off credentials.
Each door is recorded with thickness, backset, bore or mortise prep, handing, fire label, and corridor Wi-Fi signal. DOOR's Interconnect page says the lock is field-reversible, for on-site adjustment.
Result: A door-by-door schedule with the lock format and any prep change per door.
Each lock is commissioned at the door from its manufacturer's app, then joined to Wi-Fi or a gateway where the system needs real time.
Result: Each door locks, opens in one motion from inside where that format was specified, and reports to the platform.
Residents are enrolled by unit, administrator roles are set, and the team is shown how to revoke a credential at move-out, read the audit trail, and answer a low-battery alert.
Result: Turnover is handled from the office; Schlage describes No-Tour as removing the need for the leasing office to visit locks when residents turn over.
What the spec sheets say
Schlage and DOOR publish grade, fire listing, and battery figures; Yale publishes code capacity and egress format. Those figures set the scope.
BHMA's A156.40 - 2025 is the "American National Standard for Residential Deadbolts," with 400,000 cycles required for Grade A dead latches.
Fire listings differ by lock.
Your fire marshal or AHJ determines compliance. Schlage Control is "Available as a deadbolt or interconnected (single-motion egress) lock," and DOOR says the Interconnect "supports single-motion egress."
