Zenitel intercom repair and replacement for Bay Area properties.
Elwin Security repairs and replaces Zenitel intercom stations at Bay Area multifamily and commercial properties. That covers the Turbine Compact TCIV+ and TCIS stations, the TEIV-1+ and TEIV-4+ door stations, the ZDD-1 and the Zenitel Slim Door ZSD-1.
For properties where a Zenitel station has stopped doing its job.
A dead station, a discontinued model and an entry that has outgrown its station each have a different fix.
01
The station is dead, offline or not registering
Zenitel's Turbine start-up page says to connect the LAN port of the device to a PoE port on the network switch. When the switch, the cable or the server registration is the cause, the fix is at the network, not in the panel.
02
The model is discontinued
Zenitel's wiki marks the TCIV-3 and TCIV-6 as discontinued and names the TCIV-3+ and TCIV-6+ as their replacements. The ITSV-1, ITSV-2 and ITSV-3 indoor stations are discontinued, with the ITSV-1 replaced by the ITSV-2, the ITSV-2 by the ITSV-4 and the ITSV-3 by the ITSV-5.
03
The entry needs a directory, keypad or card reader
Zenitel's door entry brochure (2025.04) describes the TEIV-1+ as a keypad door station with display and scroll for multi-tenant visitor solutions, and the TEIV-4+ as a one-button station with mechanical space for a third-party card reader inside the intercom.
Service focus
Reset, update, rewire, return or replace: Zenitel's documents decide.
The first job is to identify the model, the item number, the platform it registers to and the shipment date.
01
Repair at the station: configuration, reset and firmware
Elwin configures the mode to match the server the station registers to: Zenitel Connect Pro, ICX-AlphaCom, IC-Edge or SIP.
02
Fix the power, network and release path
Zenitel's Turbine+ board connectors page lists the SPDT relay contact at a maximum of 250 VAC or 220 VDC, 2 A and 60 W. Elwin tests the PoE source, the cable run, the relay contact and the strike or maglock power supply before replacing a station.
03
Return it to Zenitel, or replace it
Zenitel USA's terms and conditions (Rev. September 2026) warrant each Zenitel Product for 36 months from the shipment date, under normal use. Where the return time or the repair cost does not make sense, Elwin replaces the station with the Zenitel model the wiki names as its replacement or with another video intercom.
Service check
What Elwin checks before quoting a Zenitel repair or replacement.
A Zenitel label on the front plate is not enough. The item number, the PoE class at the switch, the mode the station runs in and the shipment date decide which Zenitel procedure, part or return path applies.
01
Release path and purchase record
Which relay drives which door or gate, where the strike or maglock supply comes from, and the shipment date.
Scope details
A Zenitel repair scope reaches past the front plate.
The front plate is what visitors see. The board behind it, the PoE path, the relay and the server it registers to are what a repair touches.
Station families and front plates
Zenitel's TCIV+ product sheet lists the TCIV-2+ with a stainless steel front plate and the TCIV-3+ with a black thermoplastic front plate. The TEIV-4+ (1008318240) product page lists options for wall or flush mounting. The ZSD-1 (1008325010) is mullion-mounted at 197 x 48 x 31 mm, and the ZDD-1 (1008510101) measures 281 x 176 x 44.5 mm.

ZDD-1 and ZSD-1
Power and network
The TCIV-3+ and TEIV-1+ product pages list IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at PoE with 3.5 W idle and 12 W maximum draw. The ZDD-1 product page lists 802.3bt Type 3 Class 6 (51 W), maximum power consumption of 30 W and 2 x RJ45.
PoE++ 802.3bt Type 3: ZDD-1
24 to 48 V DC local power: TCIV+
Release hardware
The TCIV-3+, TEIV-1+ and TEIV-4+ product pages list a change-over relay (NO+NC+COM); the TEIV pages rate it 2A, 60W, SELV. Where a Zenitel relay releases a maglock or an exit door, the fire marshal or local AHJ decides what egress hardware is acceptable.

Separate strike or maglock power supply
Platform, firmware and security
The TCIV-3+ wiki page lists four modes: Zenitel Connect Pro, ICX-AlphaCom, IC-Edge and SIP.

VS-IS 9.5.3.1 release lists VSFF8-9.5.3.1 for TKIV+, TCIV+, TMIV+ and TEIV+
Process
From a dead station to a working entry, with Zenitel's own procedures.
Elwin ties repair decisions to Zenitel's published data sheets, wiki pages, release notes and terms of sale.
01
Identify the station and test the path
Record the model, item number, PoE source, cable run, mode and relay wiring. Test the call, the camera stream and the release at the panel.
Result: The quote names the exact Zenitel procedure, firmware version, part, factory return or replacement model, not a generic intercom repair.
02
Choose reset, firmware, rewiring, factory return or replacement
Match the failure to Zenitel's release notes and security advisory, its warranty terms, or the replacement model its wiki names.
Result: The property knows what the fix costs and what it leaves in place.
03
Install, configure and hand off
Mount a Turbine Compact station on the TA-1 on-wall box or the TA-5 bracket, set the mode and test each relay.
Result: The entry works and the property can see how its station is configured.
Field proof
What Zenitel's own documents say about parts, warranty and discontinuation.
Zenitel's support page, terms and conditions and wiki state its spare parts, warranty and discontinuation notices.
Zenitel's support page states that it offers spare parts up to 10 years after a system was purchased, and its general terms of sale (March 2026) warrant the availability of spare parts, meaning any item listed in the current Zenitel spare part price list.
Zenitel USA's terms and conditions (Rev. September 2026) give a 36-month warranty from the shipment date, with repair or replacement at Zenitel's option as the sole remedy, and state that the warranty is afforded only to the Buyer and is not a warranty to the Buyer's customers.
Zenitel's general terms (March 2026) require the Buyer to uninstall a defective product returned to the factory and reinstall it after repair or replacement, and state that for a repair done on site, Zenitel approves the company or technician doing the labour on its behalf.
Release hardware
A surface closer, a frame-mounted sensor, a cable-fed lock and a wall keypad at a mesh entry door.
Pedestrian gate
A wooden slat pedestrian gate with a surface-mounted closer arm across the top rail.
Core service areas for property-first security work.
Elwin serves Bay Area properties from Santa Clara outward, with access control, cameras, intercoms, door hardware, and low-voltage planning tied back to the site conditions in each city.
Zenitel's wiki names the TCIV-3+ as the replacement for the TCIV-3. Zenitel's TCIV+ product sheet states that the TCIV+ packs HD video technology within the same form factor as the Turbine Compact (TCIS) range. The TCIV-3+ wiki page lists the TA-1 on-wall box and the TA-5 bracket for US 2-gang back boxes; Elwin checks the existing box first.
Zenitel USA's terms (Rev. September 2026) warrant each product for 36 months from the shipment date, limit the remedy to repair or replacement at Zenitel's option when the product is returned freight prepaid, and afford the warranty only to the Buyer that purchased from Zenitel, not to the Buyer's customers. A return needs a Zenitel Return Authorization from its claims and returns form, and Zenitel's general terms (March 2026) state that the Buyer uninstalls a product returned to the factory and reinstalls it after repair or replacement. Elwin reads the purchase record before quoting a warranty return.
The TCIV-3+, TEIV-1+ and TEIV-4+ product pages list IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at PoE; the ZDD-1 page lists 802.3bt Type 3 Class 6 (51 W).
Zenitel's door entry brochure describes the TEIV-1+ as a keypad door station with display and scroll for multi-tenant visitor solutions. For a narrow frame, Zenitel's wiki describes the ZSD-1 as a mullion-mounted intercom designed to fit narrow doorframes and mullions.
Yes. Elwin replaces Zenitel door stations with other video intercoms and reuses the door or gate release wiring where it tests sound. The next step is a service call to identify the station and test the PoE and relay path, or a site walk if replacement is already on the table.
